Dr. Katy Hind

Hello! I am an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, Canada. I teach first-year Biology at UNB and love exploring biological diversity with new scientists!

I am also an instructor at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre on Vancouver Island, Canada.

My PhD training involved discovering new species of seaweeds from around the world. I spend a lot of time looking through the microscope and describing new species - I'm a taxonomist! I am particularly fond of a group of seaweeds called the coralline algae. Please see my teaching and research pages for more info!
